Education
After graduating from UCONN with a degree in Marine Biology and minoring in Natural Resource Management and Engineering, Jon has spent his entire professional career on the water. Working first for NOAA he began his journey as an observer. He worked on commercial scallopers, gill netters, and draggers for three years, and his experience covered ports from Maine to North Carolina.
Experience
During his early career, Jon operated pilot/crew and utility vessels in Eastern and Central Long Island Sound. After a few years, he also became captain for Project Oceanology based out of Groton, Connecticut. In 2012 he settled in at the Fishers Island Ferry where he is presently the Marine Operations Manager.
He has extensive experience with fishing charter boats in Connecticut. Jon has worked as both a fishing captain and mate for various vessels in the area. So, his knowledge of fishing these local waters has been honed by working with a variety of experienced Captain’s. Consequently, these techniques, locations, and timing all additionally add to a successful customer experience.

Looking for a Captain who can unquestionably put you on fish? You have come to the right place. Additionally, the Lady Jo offers 2 types of inshore charters for the following species: Striped Bass, Black Sea Bass, Porgies, Bluefish, and Fluke. Offshore charters are very limited and we would recommend calling for availability and durations. We hope to get you out on the water this season!
